April 1, 2015 Counterfeit Kit Club Kit Reveal

Hello my name is Sharon and I am so honored to be a guest designer for Counterfeit Kit Club for the month of April.  They are an online challenge site that challenges you to use the supplies and tools you already own to make your own kit.   A kit  that is fairly new (less than a year old) is chosen to counterfeit and and then we make our own version of their kit.  My stash of supplies is quite extensive since I have been collecting for around fifteen years now.  I love the idea and have enjoyed making my kit and  making pages from that kit.  It really at times has gotten me out of my comfort zone which is a good thing since I felt like all my pages were looking the same.  This month we are counterfeiting a kit from A Beautiful Mess called the Messy Box. http://www.abeautifulmess.com/2015/03/messy-box-is-here-.html   It uses very bright and very graphic papers. Here is a picture of the Messy Box Kit and of my kit that I pulled from my stash. I named my kit Graphic Dreams.  A Beautiful Mess has a video on their blog so you can see what is in their kit.  It is quite bright and beautiful.  Here is the link to the video.  http://www.abeautifulmess.com/2015/03/happy-mail-unboxing-march.html

The Messy Box Kit:

The Messy Box is here!

My Graphic Dreams Kit:

Their kit only has 6 papers in it and of course I went a lot crazier than that. I pulled  lots of papers from Heidi Swap's  My Favorite Things Collection. I also pulled some black card stock from Color Box and several sheets of 6 x 6 papers from an American Crafts Collection. I pulled a vellum sheet of hearts from Paper Studio, and then pulled some 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 cards from WRMK Project Life Kit.  I also pulled a group of alpha Thickers in green/yellow combination and some gold Thickers as well.  Then a mixture of brads, clips, wood veneer, and chipboard pieces along with some flowers.  I can't wait to start making pages from my kit.  I hope you will join us and show us the pages you make too.
I love scrap booking with sketches.  It helps me to get my pages done faster than if I try to come up with ideas on my own.  Between the sketches and other peoples take on the sketches it helps me to stay focused on placement of papers and embellishments.

  7. So glad you are being featured this month! I rely on sketches as well as I feel design is my weakness in the scrapbooking process. YOu have gathered a vibrant array of supplies. Loving that heart paper and that "splat" looking stencil is a great addition to the "messy" inspiration. Have fun!
